Fishing Vacations

All of us at Sandspit Adventures want to make your visit the 'trip of a lifetime'. We are anxious to share our knowledge of the culture, the heritage of Haida Gwaii and of course, our fish!

In the morning, we leave from the Sandspit Marina heading west through the Skidegate Inlet towards the East/West Narrows en route to Cartwright Sound. We'll cruise to area 2 West, the world's best fishing grounds, via inlets, channels and island leasides. Our day consists of 8 to 10 hours fishing for Salmon, Halibut, Ling Cod and Red Snapper (or in the November to March freshwater season we fish for Steelhead). This is the 'back yard' where some of our guides were born and raised. They'll show you their favourite fishing grounds and help you have the experience of a lifetime!

At the end of the day your catch will be processed, frozen and packed for you to take home.

Aside from great fishing, the local waters offer a wide array of wildlife for your viewing pleasure. From the mighty humpback to the sleek fin of the killer whale, you will enjoy the thrill of nature up close and personally.

Many of our guides have worked with Parks Canada managing one of the world's greatest treasures, Gwaii Haanas, which was rated by National Geographic as the best park in North America for sustainable tourism. This is our 'backyard' and we would be happy to help you plan your adventure package.
