Sandspit Adventures, formerly known as Alberta Viking Charters is a division of Sandspit Harbour Inn, Inc. and has operated fishing charters since its inception in 2000. The founder, Sylvan Swanberg, an entrepreneur in the Alberta Oil & Gas industry, built a successful international trucking enterprise and is a stake-holder in Swanberg Air and The Sandspit Harbour Inn, Inc.Sandspit Adventures operates a fleet of six 24 foot cabin cruisers and three 21 foot vessels used for the guided fishing trips.
We fish the legendary waters of Haida Gwaii (formerly called the Queen Charlotte Islands) and explore the history and culture of the native Haida nation.
Whether you catch a trophy size King Salmon, a huge Halibut, explore the pristine beauty of Gwaii Haanas, or discover the spirit and legends of the Haida, your Sandspit Adventure is guaranteed to be enjoyable. The best time to fish Haida Gwaii is from May through September when the waters are teeming with Salmon and Halibut. We now also offer fresh water fishing from December through March.
